The largest trade exhibition in Shanghai
11.11.2019In Shanghai, our company presented lightning arresters, equipment for draining transformer insulation Transec and the system of temperature monitoring and contact control FIPRES, which became a novel product for the Chinese market and it was very favorably accepted at the exhibition.
The head of the marketing department Ekaterina Vasina spoke about the huge exhibition space, which has almost doubled this year, about the peculiarities of exhibitions, about the comparison with European electric power events.
"The exhibition was really very large this year - the exhibition area of EP Shanghai 2019 has grown by 40%. Therefore, there were more participating companies and the area of booths were increased. Every year, their design has been moving closer to the classic European style though you can still see “golden characters”. Contractors in China who help us to prepare the booth have also changed. For instance, it was very difficult to work with local developers because of the lack of communication 3-4 years ago. Now the level of service is equal and sometimes even better than European exhibitions. Perhaps this is due to the fact that Streamer regularly acquires new international experience and improves its ability to work with representatives of different cultures. In one instance, during the installation of Streamer's booth. I got lost for the first time - I wanted to leave the pavilion for some water, but could not find a way out for almost 15 minutes. Developers were moving randomly around a great number of booths under construction. It was difficult to get any orientation among the pavilions and passage ways," says Ekaterina.
The Shanghai exhibition had other features in store. For example, unlike Europe, China did not have closed meeting rooms. All meetings were held at tables within the exhibition area, among samples and in full view of everyone. This gave a very bright and dynamic feeling of life in booths.
And, according to Ekaterina Vasina, the pavilions were always very noisy and loud music was playing at the booths. The range of visitors was also diverse. Basically, there were 30-years-old executives while the specialists at the Russian and European exhibitions were mostly much older CEOs, engineers and managers .
Exhibitors at the EP Shanghai 2019 demonstrated many product concepts. The Chinese love technology and are confident that each development is sure to go into mass production.
"China is a very promising market, which must be won.
Streamer has been actively developing in China since 2013. That's why we participated in this major trade exhibition. Shanghai is quite a comfortable city. In addition to participation in the exhibition, there was also communication within the team, which is important as we have a lot of similar tasks, but don’t meet often. Much attention was given to our booth in Shanghai. Guests asked a lot of technical questions, it was clear that the audience were competent in their knowledge. In addition to contacts from China, there were visitors from other countries, such as Malaysia, Morocco, Australia and Mexico”, continues Ekaterina Vasina.
According to her, the time was not enough - in fact, the exhibition lasted a little more than two days to become familialized. Perhaps another full day should have been added to the event, concluded the head of marketing department of Streamer.
