First TRANSEC installation Nicaragua22.02.2021
One of the main features of wind power plants operation is the unstable load on transformers which means constant water exchange between solid and liquid insulation. We installed TRANSEC modules near to the largest freshwater lake in Latin America. Several active volcanoes are located on the islands, and as a result record high seismic activity, so we developed a unique design with additional attachment nodes. In addition to the possibility of an earthquake, this place is characterized by the Pacific Ocean's proximity; it is known as is one of the most picturesque beaches in the region.
Noteworthy that equipment control at the plant is carried out remotely, so the customer paid particular attention to the possibility of remote monitoring of indicators.
This time, TRANSEC has been installed during the transformer maintenance, which required its shutdown. Therefore, during the first hours of TRANSEC operation, sensor indicators showed an extremely high oil humidity rate; however, a few hours after transformer switching on, the balance of humidity between solid and liquid insulation was restored.
