Streamer Products Become More and More Popular in Europe
15.05.2017Representatives of Bulgarian Distributor Company got acquainted with LLPDs range at the exhibition “Electrical Networks of Russia”. LLPDs performance characteristics made a good impression, that is why the Russian company received an offer for cooperation.
In Bulgaria, Streamer experts arranged a trial training session on the products for the potential distributor, as well as held a number of meetings with the management of three distributing companies from Sofia, Varna and Stara Zagora. Power engineers got really interested in the innovative LLPDs and described the specific details of their networks and provided data on the number of accidents arising from lightning. As a result of negotiations, two companies started preparing quotations for overhead power lines, where the biggest number of outages registered due to the lightning overvoltage. These lines will be equipped with LLPDs as pilot installations.
The stage of preparations is to take several months, and LLPD installation will be performed at the beginning of the next year.

In 2019, the University of Napoli contacted Streamer Electric AG in order the find a lightning protection solution for medium voltage lines. Prof. Amedeo Andreotti was looking for medium voltage line protection devices for E-Distribuzione, the Distribution utility of Italy, part of the ENEL group owner of the electrical network in Italy but also many other electrical networks around the world. E- Distribuzione is actively looking to improve the lightning outage rate on their overhead line network and particularly in the northern part of Italy.
