Malaysia On-Site Training for LLPD dM35z
04.02.2021
The first training was held in Selangor on the 15th June 2020. Our team and TNB went to the district Sekinchan, an area with a high probability of lightning strikes. There were twelve people from TNB's team and Streamer distributor, staff who attended the activity. The training was of course performed by practicing social distancing. We installed our LLPDs on two types of poles: H-type tension and single suspension. We then collected feedback such as longer jumper necessity and some missing composite insulators. Those feedbacks are valuable for us in order to achieve a better installation next time. |

A week later, on-site training was conducted in district Pasak, Johor, Malaysia. We installed twelve pieces of LLPD in two types of tower: mini and P1. After the training, our end-user committed to send drawings related to the tower for further adjustment in installation. Some accessories needed to be modified for adjusting properly into each tower.
Perak and Kedah were the last cities for this onsite training carried by Streamer Electric AG during summer 2020. The weather was sunny at that time. It gave us the right condition to install the LLPD onto the towers. Our end-user seemed familiar enough with the installation process this time. It was proven possible to finish one tower installation within less than 45 minutes. To compare, the installation took around 3 or 4 hours in the first trial. The installation process was much clearer this time.
A couple of months after on-site training, TNB awarded their tender to our local distributor. They confirmed the order of 1500 pieces of LLPD. This order has been completed. We delivered the product into two batches. First shipping was450 pcs and the second one 1050 pcs with some improvements on the packing boxes following TNB request.
That was such a well-organized project between Streamer’s distributor and TNB. Our end-user was very satisfied and trusted enough the Streamer’s LLPD products to use more in the future. Streamer Electric AG commits to always deliver a strong lightning protection product providing the best service in keeping the light.
CIGRE 2022 finished last week

Streamer met with its old friends over the world - it was a nice and warm event, the first big one after the Covid times. CIGRE was also very useful in setting up new cooperation opportunities, mostly in the European region.
First LLPD installation for E-Distribuzione near Oderzo, Veneto, Italy

In 2019, the University of Napoli contacted Streamer Electric AG in order the find a lightning protection solution for medium voltage lines. Prof. Amedeo Andreotti was looking for medium voltage line protection devices for E-Distribuzione, the Distribution utility of Italy, part of the ENEL group owner of the electrical network in Italy but also many other electrical networks around the world. E- Distribuzione is actively looking to improve the lightning outage rate on their overhead line network and particularly in the northern part of Italy.

First installation of TRANSEC units in Ecuador

Vietnam Ha Giang Power Company will test Streamer innovative devices of lightning protection.

Ha Giang is a mountainous province with a complex topography and experiences extremely high lightning density during the thunderstorm season. 110 kV lines in the province mostly pass through mountainous terrain, many rivers, and streams, so breaks of the line wires due to lightning, are not uncommon. Most of the problem areas are concentrated in areas such as the Nam Ngan hydroelectric power plant and the city of Viet Kuang. Installation of innovative lightning protection devices to provide the region with uninterrupted power supply was necessary.
